ERC Grant PhD positions at SCL


Institute of Physics Belgrade (IPB, Serbia) offers two PhD positions, funded by the European Research Council through the ERC Starting Grant SCLoTHiFi, which starts on 01/01/2023. ERC grants are the most prestigious grants in the European Union, and represent an excellent springboard for young aspiring researchers. The 5-year condensed matter theory project will employ a combination of state-of-the-art analytical and numerical methods in the study of high-temperature superconductors.

The successful candidate will enroll in the PhD program at the University of Belgrade, and work under supervision of the PI, Jakša Vučičević. They will collaborate closely with the other team members, as well as with researchers in some of the leading institutions in Europe. The tasks will involve analytical investigations, algorithmic development, code implementation and large scale numerical computations.

The positions will start 1st October 2023.

Requirements:

- a master degree (or equivalent) in physics, electrical engineering, computer science, math or similar.
- solid analytical and math skills
- at least some experience with programming
