SCL researchers visit FU Berlin

SCL's Ivana Vidanovic visited Free University of Berlin from 14 June to 5 July 2009 in the framework of PI-BEC research project. During her three-week visit to the group of Dr. Axel Pelster, she started work on applying Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov approximation for the study of Bose-Einstein condensates. This approximation will be combined with the recently established numerical approach based on higher-order effective actions, developed in collaboration by SCL and FU Berlin group.

In a subsequent visit to FU Berlin from 6 to 10 July 2009, organized also within PI-BEC research activities, SCL's Antun Balaz presented new results on fast-rotating Bose-Einstein condensates and worked on a new paper with Dr. Pelster. Future visits to Belgrade were planned in talks with students of Berlin group: Aristeu Lima, Oliver Gabel and Markus Düttmann.

In addition to the PI-BEC project, both visits were supported by the research project OI141035 of the Serbian Ministry of Science and EU Centre of Excellence Grant CX-CMCS.
