Willem-Victor van Gerven Oei started his bachelor studies in 2006 at the University of Amsterdam (NL) which he finished within the field of Angle-Resolved Photoemission Spectroscopy on high-Tc cuprate superconductors. Part of this research was carried out at the synchrotron facility BESSY II in Berlin. His master education he finished in theoretical physics, to be specific in the field of (quantum) integrable models and exactly solvable models. His master graduation project focused on deriving (up till then unknown) closed forms for matrix elements in systems with two-fold internal degree of freedom. In 2012 Willem-Victor moved to Belgrade and initially found a position at the Institute of Physics Belgrade related to the reorganization of the institute, by forming a "Strategic Growth Unit" together with the institute's management. In the mean-time, Willem-Victor started collaborating scientifically with SCL member Darko Tanasković on the topic of stabilizing superconducting order in the Periodic Anderson Model through Dynamical Mean Field Theory. Currently this collaboration grew into Willem-Victor carrying out his PhD studies at the Scientific Computing Laboratory under supervision of Darko Tanasković.
