SCL Seminar by Miguel A. F. Sanjuán

You are cordially invited to the SCL seminar of the Center for the Study of Complex Systems, which will be held on Tuesday, 27 May 2025 at 14:00 in the library reading room “Dr. Dragan Popović" of the Institute of Physics Belgrade. The talk entitled

Symphony of the uncertainty in three movements

will be given by Prof. Miguel A. F. Sanjuán (Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, Madrid, Spain). The abstract of the talk:

In this talk, akin to a symphony in three movements, we will provide an overview of various concepts related to uncertainty and unpredictability in nonlinear dynamics. We will start from the topological concept of indecomposable continua to Wada basins. Then, we will continue with the Wada basins of the Hénon-Heiles Hamiltonian system, to finally culminate with the concept of basin entropy. Additionally, we will discuss recent advancements in using basin entropy for classifying basins, as well as for exploring bifurcations.
