MLQC4FC Students Visit SCL
On Thursday, October 1, 2026, The Scientific Computing Laboratory (SCL) at the Institute of Physics Belgrade welcomed an international group of PhD students and early-career researchers participating in the First MLQC4FC Training School.
The training school, organized under the European COST Action CA24146 (Machine Learning and Quantum Computing for Future Colliders), brought together a multi-disciplinary cohort focused on the computational challenges of next-generation particle physics.
During their laboratory tour, the young researchers were introduced to SCL’s core research areas, including numerical simulations of complex systems and quantum many-body physics. A major highlight of the visit was a firsthand look at the PARADOX-IV computer cluster, where SCL team members explained how this high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure provides the vital backbone for demanding scientific simulations.
The visit successfully fostered interdisciplinary dialogue, leaving the next generation of particle physicists inspired by the local HPC capabilities driving cutting-edge research in Serbia.
